Been a while..

So, it's been a LONG while since I wrote on this blog of mine.  I am still into fashion very much and plan to watch the Fashion Television special this weekend, it's also my favourite day of the year tomorrow. It's pretty obvious what that day is.. MY BIRTHDAY. I just went into my grade 10 year, nothing special really just some science and cooking classes.
In the summer, I went to Virgina Beach, which is very beautiful. Mostly at 5 in the morning, I got SO MANY fabulous pictures, mostly because I got to use a more professional type camera. -sorry to brag- I started sewing also, there's this great site where internet users share their crafts and "how-to's".  CUTOUTANDKEEP.NET

Well, the only thing different about me now is that i have pink hair, strange? I don't think so, well after swimming in Virgina for a whole week, it's a peachy orange.

The reason why I wanted to write again, was because i saw this AMAZING GORGEOUS FABULOUS bag.  Well, it's an old picture from the Spring 2009 Ready-To-Wear collection, but I don't care if it's "So last season" I LOVE IT.

Japanese Awesome Stuff

Haha, so remember my favourite picture of the talented Karl Lagerfeld (btw his muse now is my favourite singer, I totally died when I found out, it's Lily Allen).  Well I found a parody of the picture from a website which sells random Japanese stuff.  There was a link to this video of a hair product...youtube.com.
Here's a picture from the video..
You know you love the picture, well if you haven't seen the Karl Lagerfeld picture ..here it is.
Is it not absolutely ADORABLE?!

Well if you would like to see the Japanese selling website it is jbox.com.  They sell this chocolate toy keychain that acts as a bubble wrap, but lasts forever.  They also sell these candy that are "food drops" which are hard candy that tastes from squid to noodles to green tea.  There are many strange foods in the Snacks section of the website, I hope you enjoy!

Graffiti

So I have this new found appreciation for all the graffiti artists out there.  Their art is so CREATIVE, IMAGINATIVE, and very colourful.  I love it SO much, I drove by some lovely ones in Little Italy on College Street in Toronto, there were only like a few I saw, but I loved it.  I probably loved it even more because I love the things in Little Italy, like the gelato store.. Dolce Gelato. Yum :]

Here's some graffiti works off the internet.. Hope it is to your likings :]

The Book Of Awesome

So when you're down, and kind of sad or even bored.  Do something nice or special, if you can't think of anything.. well maybe this book will help, or the blog.  This really gives me those wonderful little moments in life which I love but never really say and those moments that everyone just cherishes.
This book is called THE BOOK OF AWESOME by Neil Pasricha.  But if you don't feel like buying the book and might be feeling a little lazy, read the blog, new posts come up very often.

The Blog:1000awesomethings.com
The Book.....

Colourful Ketchup

I'm sorry, it's been awhile.  I am so excited because i just signed up to volunteer for a fashion show called Strut For A Cure.  It's a foundation created by Canadian supermodel Coco Rocha's little cousin to help children cancer.

Well anyways, the topic of this blog is some damn colourful Heinz ketchup.  Apparently around the year 2000 Heinz launched out GREEN and PURPLE ketchup.  That is some ketchup I want to try.
I love foods with unusual looks, they are so interesting to eat.  Like there are purple carrots, which I love, purple bell peppers, green chocolate, square watermelons (weird!), watermelon with yellow inside instead of red, blood oranges (the juice colour is like a blood red),etc

Designs

So I was on Mocoloco.com and passed by an article on Milan Design Week of 2010.
The article was about the beautiful design of chairs by Fabio Novembre.  The chair was called the Nemo chair, very lovely.

Lovely Isn't He?

He is outrageously creative, and I bet he always has a lot on his mind.
He, to me and probably alot of others, is a living legend, a dream I want to see face-to-face, if that makes sense.
Haha, I love the comments he does about his weight, like once he said,"Some people would like me to be round again."  I found that funny, but maybe it's because I'm immature.

This is officially my favourite picture of the month, so cute! :]

For all who don't know who "HE" is, I'm sorry for not mentioning his name but I was thinking of the man in the picture above,
KARL LAGERFELD.

Interior Works

I have realized that interior designing is quite hard, I tried it for my room and I didn't get anywhere.  So I have those amazing interior designers a pat on the back for really good work.  Like Tom Dixon and Marcel Wanders, their work is literally jaw dropping, because their work is shockingly stunning.  Here is a taste of their work, first Tom Dixon (www.tomdixon.net)..
And now imagine this sketch of his with colour, I think it would be incredible to see in real life.

Now its Marcel Wanders' turn..www.marcelwanders.com

They are true artists, B-U-T-FUL work!  (and no not butt-ful)

Christian Lacroix

In Wikipedia definition Haute Couture means high sewing or dressmaking.  With this style of designing decreasing, there is one designer is is said that saved it by creating his line of all Haute Couture.  This man is Christian Lacroix, he was very popular in the 1980's, said by Fashion Television.

He first decided to work in museums and create costumes but his love turned into fashion design.  But he does do some other beautiful designs. For instance he designed some water bottles, which are damn pretty. Also, he was THE ONE who created the poofy skirt.
But sadly, this amazing designer had been filed for bankruptcy in 2009.  I don't really have note what had happened afterward, but hopefully someone had already funded his design label.

Nada Video Game

Today while browsing the web, or Fashion Television's website, I came across this gorgeous picture from Nada's Fall/Winter 2010 Collection.
Interesting, no? Well there was a video to present the collection.  The video is like a video game dressing the model as a warrior with the new collection.  I love the video!  It's really interesting to watch two beautiful models fight, something I've never seen. So battle after battle the warrior gets new clothes for each one. This is link for the video.  That link also shows the picture, I love the way Nada showcased their new collection, very creative.

J. Alexander a.k.a Miss J

Hasn't it been awhile?

Have you people ever America's Next Top Model?

One of the judges on the judge panel is the wonderful Miss J, J.Alexander.

I always thought he was awesome, for his walk and his clothes and personality, but I never really asked about where he came from, that question had a very interesting answer.

But I recently found a book he wrote about his life and career, and it's witty, funny, sad, and full of very good advice.  The book is also filled with many pictures he has modeled, all very lovely and pictures of his experiences also.

The book is called Follow The Model, and it has a gorgeous picture of Miss J on the cover, which I love.

Some moments in the book were very sad and made me tear up like the part where he described his reaction to Barbara's death.

The book also has advice from entering a club to showing you how to pronounce popular fashion brand names, such as, Costello Tagliapietra which is pronounced as "cost-EL-lo tah-lee-ah-pee-Ay-trah" according to Miss Jay.  That comes very helpful when I want to learn about the fashion world.

An advice that was given to him once, as he quoted was on page 70, which his manager at his job at Bergdorf Goodman told him when he tried to hide his mistake and hid his mistake, she told him that "You appear to be smarter by asking questions than not asking them at all."

I suggest you read this book.  Hope you all like it. :]

Paris Fashion Week

It is now the middle of Paris Fashion Week. YAY!

There are so many things, well for one there's Manish Arora, Indian fashion designer, is showing his Fall/Winter 10/11 collection and his boots. GORGEOUS!
Here's a little taste of his work.  This is the Spring/Summer 09 collection, I believe.

OMG and on the second day of fashion week, guess who featured at 6 pm? GARETH PUGH! His collection was looking quite sleek, and I loved it.Watching on him Fashion Television makes me wish I could watch his fashion shows on the first row with all the A-listers, like Anna Wintour and all, I wonder if Tavi would be there..hmm.

This fashion week I am a little bummed.  Alexander McQueen's collection isn't going to show and his fashion shows are quite rad, haha I always wanted to say that. Well here are his amazing moments in fashion.

That's some hardcore football helmet
Fall/Winter 2009, Spring/Summer 2008 and the last two are Spring/Summer 2005, I especially like that last photo the shape of the dress, colour and everything about it.

Last Day Of February and Tim Burton

Well it's the last day of the second month, damn time goes fast.

So I recently discovered the movie Edward Scissorhands, a movie from Tim Burton, produced in 1990.  This movie, which I have not yet watched, looks so amazing and there's this clip where a girl tells him to hold her and he replies with "I can't" because his hands are scissors and it looks SO cute.  I probably ruined the movie for myself by watching that clip.  But the character is also played by Johnny Depp, who in my opinion has great talent in what he does.

Speaking of movies by Tim Burton, I have been waiting for months for Alice In Wonderland, the big-headed Queen Of Hearts (or "The Red Queen")and the evil, but innocent looking White Queen (played by Anne Hathaway) are what makes me really want to watch the movie.  Tim Burton is awesome with movies, I hope I could be as good with my profession when I am older.

Gareth Pugh

You know I never knew how interesting fashion could be.  Mostly after watching The Devil Wears Prada a few weeks ago, even though it came out in 2006.  I remember hearing the title- not knowing what Prada was- and thought it was a horror movie.  Well one designer that REALLY catches my eye was Gareth Pugh.  He is quite imaginative and creative with all the designs he has came up with, everything is so different from what I have ever seen and makes me go "WOW" with my jaw dropped.

Early St. Patrick's

So it's been awhile
Valentine's Day is over, NEXT IS ST.PATRICK'S DAY
I decided to take a St.Patrick's Day themed photo since I haven't taken much lately.
The doll may look creepy and I do apologize, I LOVE this doll since I was like 5, so I am used to it's Chucky- looking features (that's what everyone says).  But the real Chucky REALLY scares me like you don't even know.

The Magical Jiggly

Jell-o.
Awesome Rainbow Jell-O from this other BLOG
Gorgeous isn't it?

My favourite food and because I love it so much I am going to share some information about this fantastic jiggly food.
  • Claimed as "America's Most Famous Dessert" for more than 100 years!
  • Scientists use Jell-O because the motion of the food mimics the brain waves of an adult male and female. (now THAT is interesting)
  • There are many flavours of Jell-O, but some were denied such as Apple, Celery, Chocolate, Coffee and Cola.
  • Apparently the flavour Cranberry will only appear in the months of November and December- I guess for the holiday theme and spirit.
I believe that is Jell-O, not so sure at the moment.  But it sure is pretty.

The Awesome Amazingly Cool Wishlist Of Twenty Ten

I find these things SO COOL, I plan to get all these items by the end of the year, maybe not all...but it is my goal

NUMBER ONE  I want this year is.....
A WALLET FROM TODDLAND or some nice one from Coach (but who am I kidding, that's expensive-but nice), you might not have heard of this brand, it is SO retro and in descriptions of products they say "rad" a lot too.
Here's their awesome "rad" website...http://toddland.bigcartel.com/
I think it's BEAUTIFUL, maybe I'm just weird.  It's called the Visitors' Wallet.  These people are geniuses!

NUMBER TWO is
500XL speakers from Fred & Friends.  These brands are names of boys..have you noticed? I find that weird.  Anyways this is very innovative and well...awesome.  Anything cool IS awesome to me.  I'm not sure if I really want it, since it is quite expensive but you CAN connect it to your iPod.

Numéro TROIS
Girls like beauty supplies, and I'm a girl.  Easy math...soo....if you didn't figure it out, I want something volving beauty...therefore leading to ...no not M.A.C. but Victoria Secret.  Victoria Secret has a line of beauty supplies or stuff (like lip gloss and lotions) called Beauty Rush.  OMG these products smell so good, with "Body Drink Lotions" with flavours of Appletini to Candy Baby (Cotton Candy).  There are also Body Mists of the same scents and more, there's nail polish, and lip gloss.  SO PRETTY.  I feel so girly. (BTW did it sound like I was advertising? probably did sorry...I just LOVE Beauty Rush)

 4. It is a little random, but I would like a necklace with a gun.  It seems so rebel or rebellious, it's probably the cheapest of all things on the list but probably the one I want most..strange huh?  Well, it's simple but unique so I love it.

ANYWAYS, that's my wish list.  I think you guys should do some sort of list for this year too, doesn't matter if it's what you want for your birthday, or things NOT to do, it's still something you can try to achieve.  Plus it helps me take up free time.

(sorry I can't seem to find a way to post a video, I'm electronically handicap)

P.S
It's not a virus
P.P.S
I hope it isn't, it's You tube... I don't think it gives viruses.  But what do I know, I'm electronically handicap.

Friends

I never realized how important it is to have friends, always having someone there to hear you and listen. You have that warm feeling when they comfort you, I love that. When it feels like your heart was taken and smashed onto the ground and into a million pieces, they'll be there. Find one really good friend, and you are set for life.

...just something I learn today, hope you take it to heart like how I did

I Love You

This is for my grandma. She's always telling me to speak my language and to speak English outside, but in the house it is otherwise. Her words are almost always the same. "You are Vietnamese, but why do you speak English? In the house speak Vietnamese." She's so small and fragile, she shuffles when she walks it's so cute.
When she speaks to you, she holds your hand and stares you right in the eye, just close enough to see every wrinkle on her face and every strand of grey hair.
Just turned 84 on January 15th, this is for you, one of my first photographs and definitely one of my favourites. Happy Belated Birthday, I love you.

Beauty

So I realized my love for health and beauty.
These are tips that everyone (who use make up) should know.. there's quite a bit
( I got this off You Tube, I'm not pro at make-up YET)

1. To know whether you are cool toned or warm toned, look at the veins on your wrists. If they are blue, you are cool. If they are greenish you are warm toned.

2. If you want larger subtle eyes, apply your first coat of mascara and on your second coat on apply on your upper eyelashes.

3. If you’re applying eye make-up and you mess up, simply take a Q-tip and dip it into a little moisturizer and wipe off.

4. When you wake up in the morning to cleanse your face remember to splash your face with cold water for like ten seconds so ”sweat glands will flow to your face” which is great for your skin. Then after take a warm facial sponge and press/pat your face to open pores ready to absorb maximum moisturizer.

5. Chapped lips? Take your old toothbrush and put a little Vaseline on it and exfoliate the dead skin cells off your lips in a circular motion.

6. If you have a long face, only apply blush on the apples of your face, not your temples. If you have a wide face, fan the brush upwards.

7. Your eyebrows frame your entire face, if you want a slimmer face; then arch your eyebrows. If you want a younger face then have them thicker.

8. If you want to look younger, then while applying blush, apply higher to give you a facelift.

9. Apply moisturizer while your face is still moist or damp from cleansing or toning, so the skin can absorb the moisturizer to the maximum.

10. If you a set of eyes that are very near to one another, emphasize eye make-up and outer edges.

11. If you have a wide set of eyes that are far from one another, emphasize less on the outer edges and more on your inner corners, such as applying eyeliner.

12. To conceal fine lines, use a light reflecting concealer. This will reflect light away from your eyes.

13. For fuller lips apply your lip gloss in a downward motion to get a 3D effect.

14. Forgot your blush? Use your lipstick instead and use your fingertips to apply the colour.

15. Forgot your foundation? Mix some of your mineral powder into your moisturizer.

16. To fix a torn nail, simply snip a little segment off a tea bag, layer it over your nail and apply clear nail polish.

17. If you tend to get acne on one side of your face, it’s probably because of your phone. So clean your phone frequently and change your pillow cases.

18. If you have dark circles, cut two slices of kiwi and layer it over your eye. This also sooths and decreases puffiness as well.

19. Use a larger powder brush to buff your face up after applying make-up to your face does not look too shiny or too powdery.

20. To make your nail colour last longer, simply buff them first or dip them into vinegar so the nail varnish will appear better.

21. If your eyes look tired, use a white eyeliner pencil and rim your waterline, if this looks too harsh, use a skin colored eyeliner pencil instead.

22. “Apply chilled, natural yogurt on your face for about 10 to 30 minutes. It sooths, freshens, absorbs excess oils, fights bacteria and helps pores look smaller. It solves any skin problem,” says Bubzbeauty.

23. Spots are swelling and redness. Eye drops can help these problems.

24. When your skin looks dull, apply lotion with a pink undertone to give yourself instant radiance. Apply on your cheekbones to make your eyes and cheekbones to stand out.

25. Eggs are fantastic treatments for the skin. Mix the egg whites until frothy and apply on your skin to tighten pores and absorb excess oil. The egg yolk is fantastic face softener and a great hair conditioner.

26. Olive oil is not only a fantastic make-up remover but also great for the skin. It is anti-aging and makes a soothing and softening. It is also a great hair conditioner and repairs weak ends. You can also dip your nails in olive oil for about 10 minutes to get stronger and shiner nails.

27. Pollution can affect our skin and especially if you work in an offices, near fax machines, and paints. Well, having a plant in your office or bedroom, like a cactus, can help soak up toxins and help your skin.

28. Remember to exfoliate twice a week to remove dead skin cells. This way your moisturizer can absorb better and masks will work better.

29. When your make-up is looking a little bit too cakey, just spray on some water on your face, than press your skin to remove the cakey-ness.

30. Wearing rosy lipsticks will make your teeth appear whiter.

With Lots Of Love

Well, this is dedicated to a special little friend of mine, Lisa. Happy Early Birthday..by like 5 months lol. <3

Happy Belated New Years

It has been awhile, sorry. Just like to wish you all a Happy New Year.
As time goes by, you sometimes have to think about the time we've wasted gaming and useless things. So my New Year's Resolution is to not waste my time.
What do you plan to do for your New Year's Resolution(s)?
