Christian Lacroix

In Wikipedia definition Haute Couture means high sewing or dressmaking.  With this style of designing decreasing, there is one designer is is said that saved it by creating his line of all Haute Couture.  This man is Christian Lacroix, he was very popular in the 1980's, said by Fashion Television.

He first decided to work in museums and create costumes but his love turned into fashion design.  But he does do some other beautiful designs. For instance he designed some water bottles, which are damn pretty. Also, he was THE ONE who created the poofy skirt.
But sadly, this amazing designer had been filed for bankruptcy in 2009.  I don't really have note what had happened afterward, but hopefully someone had already funded his design label.

Nada Video Game

Today while browsing the web, or Fashion Television's website, I came across this gorgeous picture from Nada's Fall/Winter 2010 Collection.
Interesting, no? Well there was a video to present the collection.  The video is like a video game dressing the model as a warrior with the new collection.  I love the video!  It's really interesting to watch two beautiful models fight, something I've never seen. So battle after battle the warrior gets new clothes for each one. This is link for the video.  That link also shows the picture, I love the way Nada showcased their new collection, very creative.

J. Alexander a.k.a Miss J

Hasn't it been awhile?

Have you people ever America's Next Top Model?

One of the judges on the judge panel is the wonderful Miss J, J.Alexander.

I always thought he was awesome, for his walk and his clothes and personality, but I never really asked about where he came from, that question had a very interesting answer.

But I recently found a book he wrote about his life and career, and it's witty, funny, sad, and full of very good advice.  The book is also filled with many pictures he has modeled, all very lovely and pictures of his experiences also.

The book is called Follow The Model, and it has a gorgeous picture of Miss J on the cover, which I love.

Some moments in the book were very sad and made me tear up like the part where he described his reaction to Barbara's death.

The book also has advice from entering a club to showing you how to pronounce popular fashion brand names, such as, Costello Tagliapietra which is pronounced as "cost-EL-lo tah-lee-ah-pee-Ay-trah" according to Miss Jay.  That comes very helpful when I want to learn about the fashion world.

An advice that was given to him once, as he quoted was on page 70, which his manager at his job at Bergdorf Goodman told him when he tried to hide his mistake and hid his mistake, she told him that "You appear to be smarter by asking questions than not asking them at all."

I suggest you read this book.  Hope you all like it. :]

Paris Fashion Week

It is now the middle of Paris Fashion Week. YAY!

There are so many things, well for one there's Manish Arora, Indian fashion designer, is showing his Fall/Winter 10/11 collection and his boots. GORGEOUS!
Here's a little taste of his work.  This is the Spring/Summer 09 collection, I believe.

OMG and on the second day of fashion week, guess who featured at 6 pm? GARETH PUGH! His collection was looking quite sleek, and I loved it.Watching on him Fashion Television makes me wish I could watch his fashion shows on the first row with all the A-listers, like Anna Wintour and all, I wonder if Tavi would be there..hmm.

This fashion week I am a little bummed.  Alexander McQueen's collection isn't going to show and his fashion shows are quite rad, haha I always wanted to say that. Well here are his amazing moments in fashion.

That's some hardcore football helmet
Fall/Winter 2009, Spring/Summer 2008 and the last two are Spring/Summer 2005, I especially like that last photo the shape of the dress, colour and everything about it.
